It's been in business for more than 40 years and is a terrific place for a quintessential diner breakfast. At lunch and dinner, order Greek and Italian specialties as well as burgers, deli-style sandwiches and roast chicken. While there are public buses in Fort Lauderdale, there's no easy or convenient way to transit from the airport to the port.

We’d recommend having some patience as it can take minutes before your car arrives. Given the short distance, it’s easy to transport back and forth from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood airport to Port Everglades. Unfortunately, there is not free shuttle that runs between the two points.
Port tenants and visitors may experience heavy traffic and delays Monday, April 22 from 6AM to 2PM due to four cruise ships in port. Motorists are encouraged to include additional time to their commute. The port’s entrances are located at Federal Hwy (US1)/ State Road 84 (Spangler Blvd.), Eisenhower Blvd./SE 17th St., and I-595/Eller Dr. Parking at the PortBy far the easiest and most convenient spot to park is at the port.

Swim in the lagoon-style outdoor pool, enjoy jet skiing and snorkeling, the fitness center with beachfront views, or treat yourself to the opulent spa. A bit further out, at 50 miles away, is the Palm Beach International Airport. This may be a good option if you plan to do some sightseeing first. It's a small airport, so it's not overwhelming like FLL, MIA, or MCO; cars easily get in and out of this airport, and it's easy to navigate for people walking through the terminals. These hotels are also less than 10 minutes from the port but are a great value -- on both points and in cash -- most nights of the year.

If departing Miami, then we’d suggest noon at the very earliest. Would be ideal to give you enough time to get off the ship, get to the airport, and get through security. As you approach the port, you’ll see the signs for the passenger drop-off and pick-up areas. Pull up to the appropriate spot and you’ll be able to unload and load passengers. That’s about $20-30 less than the rate of a taxi cab, making rideshare services like Uber and Lyft our preferred method of reaching the port.
The fat-ferry (catamaran ship) has passenger capacity 650, max speed 38 knots (70 kph / 44 mph) and offers 5 weekly crossings with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. On the day of departure, when your group is called, follow the signs to the gangway/exit. As you leave the ship, your sea pass will be scanned one final time and your access card will then be invalid. At check-in, cruise staff will need to see your passport, visas (including ESTA) and your cruise booking information and number. As with airports, you cannot board the cruise ship with any firearms, knives, explosives, flammable liquids, illegal drugs etc.
It’s a great way to get a tour of the city in a memorable way. If you are assigned a check-in time, then you should aim to arrive at that time. In general the estimated fares are higher than you’ll find with Uber and Lyft. Spread out a bit more than the Port of Miami, it can be a bit confusing to navigate the port if you’re a first-timer or if you simply haven’t sailed from there in a while.
